About Dr. Bates

Growing up in Findlay, Ohio, Dr. Haley Bates was always bringing home stray cats, dogs and rabbits. Her parents never discouraged her, and she couldn’t help but fall in love with animal care from a young age. Dr. Bates headed to the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She performed her clinical year at the University of Florida and decided to remain in the state after graduating. She worked at a rapidly growing private practice, Morningside Animal Hospital.

Dr. Bates brings with her, special interest in soft tissue surgery and dentistry because of their capability to greatly enhance a pet’s quality of life. On a personal level, Dr. Bates strongly believes in creating and maintaining an open, honest, and relaxed relationship with her clients. She states “Being able to socialize with my clients allows me to educate them in a relaxed manner about their pet’s healthcare”.

At home, Dr. Bates has one cat: Oliver, who was acquired on the island of St. Kitts. She also has a French Bulldog named Indy. When not caring for pets’ needs around the hospital or spending time with Oliver and Indy, Dr. Bates enjoys hiking, kayaking, biking, running and reading. She’s a self-described adrenaline junkie and loves anything that can make her heart pound.
