Proper dental care is extremely important in dogs and cats.  Lack of attention to teeth and gums can lead to gingivitis, periodontitis, bone infection, dental abscess and tooth loss.  Besides the unpleasant odor, oral disease is painful and can lead to heart disease, pulmonary disease and kidney disease.

Most dental procedures in dogs and cats require some level of anesthesia.  All patients receive pre-anesthetic blood testing, are maintained on IV fluids, and receive continual monitoring of vital signs through the procedure.  When your pet has healthy teeth and gums, both of you end up smiling!
