Shawna joined WCRAH & VEH in May 2009 with 20+ years of "animal experience," including veterinary assistance, obedience training, boarding kennel management, and therapeutic riding.  She grew up helping raise, train and show registered Schipperkes for her family's Topwatch Kennel and later earned a BA degree in Biology from Maryville College in Tennessee.  Shawna enjoys photography, hiking, Native American history/art, collecting pottery and sharing her life with her horse Kiwani, dog Rosie Ann, and two cats, Gypsy and Hawkeye.

Lynn joined WCRAH & VEH in 2010. She developed a love for learning while growing up in a military family and her current goals include sitting for the National Pharmacy Technician Exam and learning Latin, Greek and Hebrew. She has an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science with a medical specialty – and an unbroken US typing record for speed! She’s also an equine and canine trainer and has won national championships in dressage, and in obedience and agility with her Australian Shepherds from her Black Horse Gap Kennels. She lives on a farm with horses, a cat, a dog and a parrot.

Marcia moved to Western North Carolina from Northern Virginia in 2008. She has worked in the veterinary field for more than two years and was in customer service for 10 years before that. She raises and shows Olde Victorian Bulldogges and has four dogs: Max, Harley, Dakota and Jasper. Marcia also enjoys scrapbooking, reading, football, camping and being outdoors.

Jana was born on Santa Catalina Island off the coast of California, where her parents trained horses.  She moved to the Carolinas 15 years ago.  Jana has worked in the veterinary field for over 20 years.  She lives with her husband Darrell, two English Pointers, a Jack Russell terrier, two horses, cats, chickens and whatever else wanders onto their Tryon farm.  Jana is a field master with the Green Creek Hounds and is involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Amanda has been in veterinary medicine for 12 years and has loved animals all her life. She was born and raised in the Hendersonville area, where she still lives with her husband, David, and two sons, Dylan and Evan. The family’s numerous pets include dogs and cats – every one a stray or rescue! – and pygmy goats. In her off hours, Amanda enjoys gardening, hiking, fishing and spending time with her family.
