Hospital Building Expansion Project
Western Carolina Regional Animal Hospital and Veterinary Emergency Hospital has announced the expansion of our hospital.
Construction began just before the holidays in December 2015 and will take approximately six months to complete. The 3,000-square-foot expansion will increase the space in the ICU to allow the hospital to accommodate more critically ill and injured patients.
We will also expand our surgical suite, adding a new dental suite and four additional exam rooms. Additional space will be added for administrative staff and doctors. The expansion will allow the hospital to better serve the growing Western North Carolina community.
WCRAH & VEH originally opened in 2008 in Flat Rock with three doctors and a small staff; today we have seven doctors and over 30 support staff. In 2009, our hospital was featured in “Veterinary Economics” for being the first 24-hour veterinary facility in Western North Carolina. In 2013, our hospital became a certified Cat Friendly Practice by American Association of Feline Practitioners.
In 2015, our hospital became the first certified Level 2 Emergency and Critical Care facility in Western North Carolina by the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society. WCRAH & VEH is also only one of 19 hospitals in country with this emergency and critical care certification.
We are so thankful to all of our clients for their understanding while we expanded the hospital. The project finished in May and were are so happy with the results! Feel free to stop by and ask for a tour!
